Street Fighter EX, launched in arcades in late 1996, marks a departure from the main Street Fighter series with its 3D graphics and gameplay. Developed and published by Capcom, it introduced new characters and fighting mechanics. While gameplay is based on the Street Fighter series’ foundations,  it incorporates the 3D environment, leading to changes in movement and combat.  The different regional releases likely contained variations in language or minor content adaptations.
